Major Marketing Campaign Underway for The Dallas Morning News
and the Dallas Cowboys
Cranberry Twp., PA - Communifax and The Dallas Morning News have developed a partnership to generate newspaper subscriptions by targeting Dallas Cowboys fans.
Communifax has designed and developed the first online-to-offline (O2O) marketing initiative for The Dallas Morning News. The promotion, titled “How ‘bout them Cowboys” Biggest Fan Contest and Instant Win Game, features the Dallas Cowboys and their new fan club, True Blue.
The goal of this campaign is to increase subscriptions to The Dallas Morning
News, promote The Dallas Morning News as the number one source for Dallas Cowboys-related news and information, as well as drive consumer participation, interaction and loyalty.
A wide variety of marketing channels – including direct mail, banner ads, email and newspaper inserts – are being utilized to drive visitors to an interactive promotional Web site which features a contest and Instant Win Game from September 4, 2007 through October 31, 2007.
To generate enthusiasm and maximize participation, fans are shown a video filmed by Batpack Studios from the Dallas Cowboys training camp at the Alamodome. They are then given the opportunity to submit, view and vote for videos, pictures, and essays that display their loyalty and fanaticism for the Cowboys. The fans who earn the most votes in each category of submission at the end of the contest will win 2008 Dallas Cowboys season tickets, a special presentation ceremony at Texas Stadium before the November 18th game against the Washington Redskins, and, of course, bragging rights as the biggest Dallas Cowboys fan ever!
In addition to the contest, fans will have an opportunity to win one of 32 daily instant win prizes, including gift cards, official Dallas Cowboys Sideline caps and autographed footballs. As part of the central hub visitors can play interactive games, are shown live news from the Dallas Cowboys Web site and are able to subscribe to their leading news source, The Dallas Morning News.
