Communifax Announces the Promotion of Gary Cerrone to President

Cranberry Twp., PA – Communifax Corporation recently appointed Gary Cerrone to President. Gary was previously the EVP, COO and CFO. With this promotion, partners Jeffrey Battin and William Battin will assume the roles of Chairman/Founder and CEO, respectively.

Prior to joining Communifax in 2001, Gary was the Vice President–General Manager for Airway Industries (dba Atlantic Travel Products). During his tenure, Gary was responsible for the worldwide operations of the company, which supported the growth of the company to the second largest branded luggage company in the United States. From 1985 to 1995, Gary held a variety of positions, including Vice President–General Manager and Chief Financial Officer at Delphi Information Systems (formerly Redshaw Inc.), a software company which provided automation solutions to the Independent Insurance Industry. Prior to joining Redshaw, Gary held a variety of management positions with U.S. Steel. He received his B.S from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA.

Communifax was formed in 1988 when Jeff realized that his value-added mindset, combined with an entrepreneurial approach to problem solving, could lead the company to succeed in the highly competitive business of print brokerage. Jeff started his career as a Sales Executive with a nationally renowned business forms and direct mail printing manufacturer, Wallace Computer Services. After six highly successful years in sales and a sincere desire to become an entrepreneur, he decided to risk his future to live his dream. After several years of successful growth, he realized that the future of Communifax should be in a new direction: direct marketing. It would be where the company's strategic skills could be maximized for growth and customer value. The migration from print management to direct mail paid off and by 1992 Communifax was listed by Inc Magazine as one of America's 500 fastest growing companies. Jeff is a graduate of Clarion State University in Western Pennsylvania.

Bill joined Communifax as a partner in January 1989. Initially charged with the responsibility of growing the business through direct and indirect channels, Bill leveraged his eight years of sales experience with Dad's Products Company, where he built one of the largest direct sales delivery operations in that company. As Communifax sales began to grow, Bill recognized the need to foster an infrastructure that could support the rapid growth of the company. Accordingly, he concentrated on the operational side of the business, building internal departments such as Account Management, Production, Creative, Accounting and Human Resources. Bill is a graduate of Clarion State University in Western Pennsylvania. He serves on the Board of Directors of Cystic Fibrosis (Pittsburgh Chapter) and has served on the Board of Governors of the Treesdale Country Club.
