Job Description: Data Architect / BI Analyst

Position Summary:
The Data Architect / BI Analyst is responsible for coordinating and developing Business Intelligence solutions within a SQL Server 2005 environment while participating in the overall Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence strategy. This position works collaboratively with the IT Group, the Analytics group, and Client Services to define, coordinate, and develop internal and external initiatives, and reports to the VP of IT.

Responsibilities include:

• Partner with other Stakeholders to develop and define an overarching Business Intelligence structure, taking advantage of existing processes, and defining and maintaining consistent architectural standards within the group
• Define comprehensive, user-friendly technical design documentation for all development projects
• Support business analysts with ad-hoc reports using Report Builder
• Suggest/recommend maintenance and enhancements for developed applications

• Track record of successful implementations as a key developer in multiple BI/DW initiatives
• Excellent understanding and experience in Dimensional Modeling in large scale production environments using star schemas
• Successful track record of Microsoft technologies including SQL Server 2005/ Analysis Services/ Reporting Services
• Proven track record of implementing large scale data management or business intelligence systems using proven software development strategies
• Excellent project management skills. History of successfully managing multi-discipline project teams in the completion of enterprise level system

Preferred Competencies:

• Visual Studio 2005
• Advanced SQL Skills
• Tuning, ETL, Aggregation
• Advanced MDX Skills a plus
• MicroStrategy Skills a plus
• Understanding of OLAP and OTLP
• Understanding of UML
• Working knowledge of Visio or some other modeling software

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with an Information Technology focus
• 5 + years of relevant development experience
• 5 + years of relevant experience in administration, configuration and customization of Microsoft’s SQL Server Platform and .NET Framework.
• 2 + years of consulting or consulting related experience
